Your public IP address is the IP address that is logged by various servers/devices when you connect to them through your company’s internet connection. Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) assigns this address to your company but it is not always static. It is important that this address does not change so that your web portal continues to function properly. Double check with your ISP to make sure your Public IP is static. If it isn’t, ask them to assign your company a static IP and make a note of it for your records.
    • DNS A Record
    • A Records are the most basic type of DNS record and are used to point a domain or subdomain to an IP address. Assigning a value to an A record is as simple as providing your DNS management panel with an IP address to where the domain or subdomain should point. For CUSI’s purposes, you’ll need to add a DNS A record for payments.<yoururl>.com that forwards to your static public IP
    • SSL Certificate
    • SSL Certificates are small data files that digitally bind a cryptographic key to an organization's details. When installed on a web server, it activates the padlock and the https protocol and allows secure connections from a web server to a browser. In essence, it tells the rest of the world that your site is safe and can be trusted. For CUSI’s purposes, this SSL certificate should be issued for payments.<yoururl>.com and should be able to be installed on your Windows server.
